Lee Hong-ki’s Reaction Strengthens Protection for Choi Min-hwan

Lee Hong-ki of the band FT Island made a post about his feelings regarding member Choi Min-hwan’s prostitution suspicions, which has since been deleted.

On the 26th, Lee Hong-ki’s post about his feelings was deleted from the Weverse fan community.

Previously, on the 25th, Lee Hong-ki expressed his thoughts, stating, “It was their private life, and that’s how it ended. I have to admit that I did something wrong and bow my head to apologize. However, we shouldn’t believe everything too easily.”

Although Lee Hong-ki did not directly use Choi Min-hwan’s name, it was speculated that he felt about what Choi Min-hwan’s ex-wife Yul-hee revealed, as it contained the content of “private life of the couple”. As a result, criticism poured in on Lee Hong-ki.

It is unclear whether the “private lives” Lee Hong-ki refers to refers to Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee, or Choi Min-hwan and former member Choi Jong-hoon.

Phrases such as “I must protect and endure again” and “It will be us” are interpreted as an intention to ensure that FT Island’s activities are not hindered even if risks arise for members.

Meanwhile, Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee got married in January 2018, but announced their divorce in December last year.

The two had a son and two daughters. Choi Min-hwan has custody of the three children.

Yulhee revealed the reason for her divorce from Choi Minhwan on her YouTube channel “Yulhee’s House” on the 24th, stating that Choi Minhwan entered a prostitution establishment and touched her inappropriately.
