Legacy MD Medical Group Celebrates Thanksgiving with Staff Turkey Gifts

On November 22, 2024, Legacy MD Medical Group distributed turkeys to over 150 staff members across its offices in El Centro, Brawley, Calexico, and Indio. This initiative included staff from Vo Neighborhood Medical Clinic, emphasizing appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the community.

Dr. John Strong, Chief Medical Officer, stated, “Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude, and our team deserves to be celebrated for their tireless efforts. Every person here plays a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of our patients. This small token is our way of saying thank you.”

The turkeys provided to employees also extended to those at Vo Neighborhood Medical Clinic, which serves the most vulnerable populations in Imperial County. The clinic offers supplemental medical services not covered by Medi-Cal or private insurance, including transportation and meal programs for patients in need.

Ruth Brown, a finance team member at Legacy MD, expressed gratitude: “Without this turkey, my family wouldn’t have Thanksgiving dinner this year. We’re so excited and so grateful to Legacy MD for thinking of us.”

Both Legacy MD Medical Group and Vo Neighborhood Medical Clinic have been serving Imperial County for over a decade and recently opened a state-of-the-art urgent care facility. They focus on providing essential healthcare services while addressing challenges faced by underserved populations.

Esmeralda Diaz, Chief Executive Officer of Legacy MD, noted, “Our mission is to serve the community not just in healthcare, but by fostering a supportive environment for our staff and patients alike. This holiday gesture reflects our appreciation for the people who make our mission possible.”

As employees left with turkeys, the event highlighted a commitment to gratitude and compassion, core values that define their service to the Imperial Valley community.
