Artist Karim Al-Husseini has announced his retirement from acting due to a lack of job opportunities. He has decided to sell his car and travel to America to find work, even if it means taking on menial jobs such as washing dishes or selling newspapers.
Al-Husseini made the announcement on his Facebook account, stating that he has been trying to find work in the artistic community since 2021, but has been unsuccessful. He expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him, but also criticized those who have ignored him or treated him poorly.
He specifically mentioned several individuals, including producer Ahmed Al-Samman and actors Ahmed Al-Awadi and Khaled Musa, who he felt had not supported him or responded to his calls. He also thanked his friend and director Ahmed Khaled Amin for not answering his calls, as well as several other directors who had ignored him.
Al-Husseini stated that he plans to travel to California and study film direction and production. He hopes to find work in the industry and eventually return to his homeland to build a city that nurtures art and talent.
He also mentioned that he will build a theater, a radio station, and showcase his own work and the work of other talented individuals on a channel. He plans to make short films, sketches, and series, and rely on this building to achieve his dreams.
Al-Husseini’s latest work was the series “The One Who Does Not Kabir,” which starred Yasmin Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Al-Awadi. He has expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him and his work, but also made it clear that he is moving on to pursue new opportunities.
