Following their win, hosts Kürt Rogiers and Ruben Nicolaï learned of a memorable⁤ detail. “No ⁣one⁣ had⁣ noticed‌ that we hid a LEGO baby in the doll that had to introduce me in our ⁣winning creation,” Geriada said.”We thought that was a ‍nice easter egg.I was three months pregnant then.”

“Fortunately we won, or ⁢else the viewers woudl⁢ never have seen that,” Vincent said. He added that the detail was ⁢only revealed to ‍the crew‌ and co-finalists⁢ after the recordings. Geriada noted that her pregnancy wasn’t widely known during filming. “However, they could know, because I regularly suffered‌ from morning sickness‌ and other small⁣ ailments,” she said. “Only afterwards did⁢ one person from the ⁤production⁤ say that⁣ he had a suspicion‍ because⁣ I was⁢ so often faint.”

With‍ the arrival of Santiago, Geriada is ⁤now dedicating more time to family. vincent said, “I am currently working in the hospitality industry and starting a structure after 23 hours is not optimal.Even though our little gentleman already attended construction sessions. vincent explained the choice of their son’s name: “Geriada had ⁢a ⁤weakness for the name Santiago. It is a Spanish name⁣ and I am⁣ half Spanish myself. We also chose it because she⁣ is Albanian. Santiago is a name that is easy to‍ pronounce for Belgians and Albanians.”

Unexpected Partnership

Vincent said his‍ expectations for the competition were modest. “my⁤ construction ‍partner dropped out at ‌the end,” he said. “to which Geriada was presented. They knew she also loved LEGO.”

“But there is a difference between‌ building and participating in a TV competition,” Geriada said. “I persisted because otherwise he could not participate. But it was ‍not obvious. ‍apart from a ⁣steam course, there were⁣ many things that I had to learn while ⁣doing. We never started the game that we would win. Surviving one episode was ⁢the original goal.”

For ⁣Vincent, legos have been a lifelong passion, starting‌ at age 4.‍ “The freedom ⁣you have with ‌LEGO appealed to‍ me,” he said. ‌”You can copy ‌construction sets, but⁤ I built other things with it. I had a talent for the technical aspect, building skateramps and tree huts.”

His affinity for construction even led him to build and live in a treehouse. Inspired by the show Treehouse Masters, Vincent constructed a treehouse in his mother’s front garden. “I bought a few thick beams and, together with friends, a treehouse with windows from a chalet from the Ardennes appeared,” he recounted.

Geriada, who frequently enough visited vincent in his ‍treehouse, ‍shared his⁣ enthusiasm. “There was electricity, a computer, TV, ⁣and a refrigerator,”⁤ he said. “For the colder moments, there was an electric ⁣fire.” The treehouse ⁣stood ⁢for seven years before being demolished. “Sadly, we have no ‍trees in our current home to build a hut ⁢again.”

Geriada’s interest in LEGOs grew through ‍Vincent. “He showed me ‌what ⁢he‌ built, and my interest was aroused, if only as we are both fans of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter… and there are also building sets from the market.”

In the final in Denmark,we had to constantly ‌go through the rain of building blocks.⁤ that was not obvious.

The duo had 20 hours to complete their LEGO‌ creation in the final round. “We ⁣needed that time,” they said. “We constantly had to ⁤walk outside to get stones in our LEGO buses, which was not obvious because it was raining. We also lost three ⁣hours ‍by purely what we wanted to make. ‌We understand the reactions that the ⁤construction works used to be more remarkable, but those duos built in a ‍studio with two million blocks.”

A team ⁣of Lego ‍enthusiasts has ⁣clinched ⁤the title of Lego ‌Masters, showcasing ingenuity ‍and skill in their winning build. The duo, identified as Geriada and Vincent, emphasized strategic design choices that ultimately led ⁤to their victory.

Geriada ⁤explained their approach: “We had to be creative with what was⁤ there. Due‍ to the distance with the vans, it was⁤ less evident to constantly walk back and forth. after the semi-final in which ‌we delivered a larger structure, and we had not gave birth‌ so well, ⁢we deliberately kept it small. We focus more on special building techniques.”

A Story⁣ Behind the Bricks

The⁣ winning Lego creation tells a personal story. According to Vincent, “My LEGO-Alterego is ⁣trapped, a reference to the fact that I no longer played with LEGO.” ⁣He⁤ further elaborated‍ on this “dark⁣ age,” a period when Lego lost its appeal during his teenage years. Geriada played a pivotal role in rekindling his passion for Lego. “In our structure she freed me from⁤ the dungeon. She fights the troll, with which we display ⁤that dark period.”
