Lena Dunham’s “Too Much” Coming to Netflix in July

Lena Dunham,known for creating and starring in Girls,is returning to television with Too Much,a new rom-com series set to premiere on Netflix on July 10. This time, Dunham is working behind the camera.
The series stars Megan Stalter as Jessica,a thirtysomething who leaves her New York life behind in search of adventure in London. The trailer shows Jessica’s expectations of a glamorous life clashing with reality. She describes her vision as “British Jones Diaries” to felix (Will Sharpe), a love interest, in a nod to Bridget Jones. felix, in turn, references Love Actually, a film whose producers are involved in Too Much.
Despite felix being a “walking series of red flags,” a connection sparks between them, and their relationship develops throughout the series.
Dunham co-created too Much with her husband, Luis Felber, both serving as executive producers. Dunham wrote in British Vogue that the series draws inspiration from her move to London in 2021 and her experiences before marrying Felber.She described it as a reflection on her desire to move past “boy craziness.”
The cast of Too Much also includes Girls alumni Rita Wilson and andrew Rannells. Guest stars include Jennifer Saunders, Kit Harington, Rita Ora, and Jessica Alba. Other cast members include Michael Zegan, Janicza Bravo, Richard E. Grant, Leo Reich, Daisy Bevan, Adele Exarchopoulos, Dean-Charles Chapman, Naomi Watts, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Rhea Perlman, Emily Ratajkowski, Stephen Fry, Kaori Momoi, and Adwoa Aboah.
