A wave of hatred on social networks. Often targeted by criticism from Internet users, Lena Situations is still the subject of cyberharassment, after her time in Popcorna show broadcast live on Twitch Tuesday, December 16. The influencer was a guest on the entertainment program, presented by Domingo, and alongside the streamer, Anyme, fan of dark humor and famous among young people.

The two content creators discuss their way of expressing themselves online. Anyme then defends her freedom of tone. “If there’s something I don’t like, I say I don’t like it and I really don’t care. That’s my opinion, and if some people don’t agree, I’m open to that,” says the streamer followed by 2.3 million subscribers on Twitch.

A position to which Lena Situations reacted live, visibly in disagreement. “I’m not judging you. I’ve already talked to you about it: everything can’t be put under the hood: ‘I’m young,’ or say what you think when it affects other people who didn’t ask for anything,” the 28-year-old told him. “I agree with you 100%,” Anyme admits.

Lena Situations, whose real name is Lena Mahfouf, then suggests that she do “a session of all excuses [qu’il] must do to people.” “It’s going to be there for a while,” replies Anyme, not without irony.

Death threats

This sequence, widely distributed on social networks, sparked violent reactions within the streamer’s community. “Talk about a streamer again and we’ll meet you at your place! You’re going to see you dirty whore!”, reacted a user in a message sent to the young woman, which she shared on Instagram.

“I understand that certain things open up debate on the Internet, but can we please have normal conversations again? I can’t stand living this every day anymore,” she said. The influencer has also closed access to her X account.

Live on Twitch, Anyme also spoke, denouncing “extremely serious” facts: “It pisses me off to see the extent that it has taken […] It’s extremely serious,” he declared, Wednesday, December 17. And added: “With Lena, there is zero drama [embrouille]she just gave her opinion on something where I agree with her. […] It pains me. […] People don’t realize the impact it can have on others.

In a story on Instagram, the two personalities appeared together at the restaurant, showing a certain complicity, by captioning: “Meanwhile.”

The show Popcorn also denounced “the immense wave of hateful comments, sometimes going as far as death threats” on social networks after the broadcast of this extract.

“We strongly condemn all of these actions and we would like to express our total support for Lena [Situations]”, it is written in a press release published on X.

“Machines for decontextualizing”

This exchange of Popcorn was also cut on social media, manipulating the reality of the discussion. A short 30-second extract was notably relayed, in which it is almost impossible to know precisely what the two influencers are talking about, with comments oriented in the Amine camp.

“How does this extract manipulate you to make you react?” analyzes Adam Bros, French videographer, on And to affirm: “The original sequence is without bad pun, good-natured and innocuous”

The example is perfect on the toxicity of this system: How does this extract manipulate you to make you react?

According to him, this is the perfect example of a scheme which consists of publicly lynching a personality by creating a grotesque montage via an extract from a video and without specifying the context. The objective behind it is to increase the statistics in order to promote certain products.

“These clipping accounts are decontextualizing machines, they cut, transform the meaning and direct the audience to generate engagement (most often negative),” continues videaste. According to Adam Bros, the account behind the truncated statement took advantage of this commitment to “illegally promote a banking affiliation”.
