display and Controls
The Legion Go 2 features an 8.8-inch Puresight OLED display with a high resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. A key enhancement is the ability to dynamically adjust the refresh rate, likely to optimize battery life. The redesigned Legion Truestrike controllers prioritize comfort and flexibility. Each controller now includes six programmable buttons: two on the edge of the right controller and four distributed across the backs of both controllers.
New Features and Design Enhancements
A built-in fingerprint reader is a new addition to the Legion Go 2, a feature absent in the first generation. The device supports multiple play modes, including tablet mode, a console mode utilizing a separately sold docking station, and an FPS mode optimized for first-person shooter games. Lenovo is also introducing a new paint finish, utilizing Excimer technology, wich promises increased durability, fingerprint resistance, and ease of cleaning.
Performance and Cooling
The Legion Go 2 will be powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, the same APU found in the ASUS ROG Ally X. AMD describes the Z2 Extreme as an 8-core, 16-thread processor with 3 Zen 5 cores and 5 Zen 5C cores, reaching speeds up to 5.0 GHz (base frequency 2.0 GHz). The integrated graphics processor features 16 RDNA 3.5 compute units, with a boost clock of up to 2900 mhz.
Cooling is handled by Lenovo’s Legion Coldfront technology, which draws air from the rear of the device and expels heat from the top, aiming to maintain optimal performance during extended gaming sessions.
Accessories and Availability
Lenovo will offer a range of accessories for the Legion Go 2, including a docking station and a Legion Go Sling Bag. official pricing and launch details are expected to be announced during the IFA 2025 exhibition in Berlin.
