Lenovo’s Global Future Leaders Program in Beijing

Lenovo’s Global Future Leaders Program recently gathered participants in Beijing for a unique training event. This program spans five years and provides hands-on experience across various roles in the company. It aims to enhance both professional skills and personal leadership abilities.

In Beijing, we focused on “Building Collaboration.” This training highlighted how our diverse skills and perspectives drive teamwork and innovation. Many of us were meeting face-to-face for the first time, having previously connected through virtual calls during COVID-19.

We began our journey at the Lenovo Global Learning Center. This modern facility hosted our workshops. On the first day, we worked with facilitator Jimbo Clark, who challenged our thinking and helped us identify what matters most to us in our personal and professional lives. We explored our passions and our approach to risk-taking.

The second day featured a deep dive into Lenovo’s AI initiatives. Top executives shared insights and answered our questions during a leadership panel. We also enjoyed a traditional Chinese dinner, engaging in meaningful conversations with the executives.

Our group took a day trip to Tianjin to witness Lenovo’s Smart Manufacturing initiatives. This experience provided a closer look at Lenovo’s history and its role in technology and innovation.

On the final day, we explored Beijing’s cultural landmarks, including the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. Some participants visited the Great Wall and the Summer Palace, creating lasting memories together.

Throughout our time in Beijing, we learned the importance of collaboration as a global team. We discovered how to leverage our diverse backgrounds for future success. This experience strengthened personal bonds and established a foundation for professional partnerships.
