Public health authorities in the French Caribbean have released their epidemiological surveillance data for leptospirosis, recording multiple fatalities and dozens of infections across Martinique and Guadeloupe during the year 2025. According to reports published by Santé publique France and regional media outlets, Martinique registered 69 cases of the bacterial infection, including two deaths.
