What Happened? the Initial Reports of a PR Stunt
Initial reports surfaced in late August 2025, suggesting that the apparent romance between Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, heavily publicized during the press tour for the “Naked Gun” reboot, was a fabricated PR stunt.TMZ reported that the affectionate displays and romantic speculation were orchestrated by their respective PR teams and paramount Pictures to generate buzz for the film.
According to TMZ, Anderson and Neeson had limited interaction during the year between the film’s completion in June 2024 and the start of the promotional tour in July 2025, further fueling the suspicion that their connection was manufactured for marketing purposes.
The Counter-Narrative: Sources Claim a “Genuine” Connection
However, People quickly followed up with a source close to the film, vehemently denying the PR stunt allegations. this source asserted that the relationship between Anderson and Neeson was “genuine,” stating that neither actor would participate in such a scheme.
“Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt. They have a great time. neither of them needs the publicity. Their relationship isn’t just for show. They have a real connection. There’s no incentive for either of them to stage something like this.”
