Lewis Capaldi “Survive” Fallon Performance – Music News
Lewis Capaldi reflects on “Horrific” Glastonbury Decision, Teases New Music
Lewis Capaldi is opening up about his recent performance at Glastonbury, revealing that he initially had serious doubts about his decision to play the iconic festival. The Scottish singer-songwriter, known for his raw honesty, shared his pre-show anxieties with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.”Up to it I was like, ’This is horrific. I made a terrible decision,'” Capaldi admitted. However, his fears were quickly put to rest once he took the stage. “and then I went out and then we did it and it was really beautiful and lovely, and it went exactly as how I hoped. And it was probably the best day of my life.”
He humorously added, “Until, I assume, when I have a child. I’ll be like, ‘Well, maybe Glastonbury was still better.'”
Navigating Mental Health and a Comeback
Capaldi also touched upon his ongoing mental health journey and his partnership with online therapy service BetterHelp. He candidly recalled experiencing a “mental breakdown” on stage in 2023 and discussed the steps he’s taken to reach a more stable place. This personal growth has empowered him to return to performing regularly.
“We’ve just announced a U.K. arena tour and an australia arena tour,” he announced, with a confident grin. “You can try and get tickets, but they’re sold out baby!”
New Music on the Horizon
Fans have been eagerly awaiting new material from the beloved artist, and Capaldi confirmed that new music is indeed on its way. Earlier this month, he revealed on Good Morning America that he is working on a new EP, with an album perhaps following next year.
“I don’t know about an album, but I’m doing an EP at some point this year, and then album maybe will follow next year,” he shared. He also teased the release schedule for his upcoming singles, stating, “my next single will arrive ‘later this summer, and then another song after that, and another song after that, until the day I die.'”
