Lewis Hamilton Frustrated, Not Demotivated After Hungarian GP
Hamilton Hints Ferrari May Need to Consider a Replacement After hungarian GP Disappointment
Lewis Hamilton has openly suggested Ferrari might need to contemplate finding a replacement driver, following a frustrating Hungarian Grand Prix where he narrowly missed out on a points finish. The seven-time World Champion finished 10th, continuing a challenging start to his Ferrari career.
Frustration After Qualifying and Race pace
The Mercedes driver’s comments came after a qualifying session that saw teammate Charles Leclerc progress while Hamilton struggled. “I don’t know if we were unlucky with Lewis or lucky with Charles to go through, but at the end of the day, it’s really on the edge,” a Ferrari team member commented, acknowledging the tight margins.
While acknowledging Hamilton’s frustration as understandable, the team remains confident in his ability to bounce back. “But I can understand the frustration from lewis, that’s normal, and he will come back. Then he was stuck in a DRS train, but when he was alone, the pace was good. I’m sure that he will be back and he will perform.”
Hamilton’s race was further hampered by being caught in a DRS train, limiting his ability to fully showcase his pace when running in clear air. Despite this, the team believes his underlying speed remains a positive sign.
A Arduous Start to Life at Ferrari
Heading into the summer break, Hamilton sits sixth in the drivers’ championship standings. despite a sprint race victory in China earlier this season, a podium finish remains elusive in his debut season with the iconic Italian team. The lack of consistent results has understandably led to questions and, now, Hamilton’s own self-assessment of his performance and potential impact on the team’s strategy.
The pressure is mounting on Hamilton to deliver the results Ferrari expect, and his recent comments suggest he’s aware of the need to quickly turn things around. The summer break offers a crucial prospect for both Hamilton and Ferrari to regroup and reassess their approach for the second half of the season.
