The 2025 Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G is shaping up to be a premier event on the LPGA Tour, boasting a strong field of competitors including major champions Lexi Thompson and Anna Nordqvist, as well as LPGA Tour winner Rose Zhang. Entries for the tournament, which will be held at TPC River’s Bend in Hamilton Township, Ohio, from September 11-14, closed on Tuesday.

Eight of the top 10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are confirmed to participate, headlined by World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul, No. 2 Nelly Korda, No. 3 and defending champion Lydia Ko and No. 4/2023 Champion Minjee Lee. The championship will award a $2 million purse.

Lexi Thompson, an 11-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion, is returning to competitive golf on a part-time schedule in 2025. She has already achieved five top-15 finishes in 10 starts this year, including a tie for second place at the Dow Championship and a tie for fourth at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Thompson finished tied for 19th at the 2024 Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G.

Charley Hull, who was the runner-up at the 2023 Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G, is also entered into the competition. Hull lost in a playoff against Minjee Lee to determine the 2023 champion. She has recorded two top-10 finishes in 10 starts in 2025, including a runner-up finish at the AIG Women’s Open.

Strongest Field in Tournament History

Tournament organizers have stated that this year’s field represents the strongest in the Kroger Queen City Championship’s four-year history. In addition to the top-ranked players and major champions, the field includes past champions and many other highly-ranked golfers from around the world.

The competition will feature 144 of the world’s best professional golfers. Tickets are currently on sale at www.QueenCityLPGA.com.

Thompson’s Return to Competition

Thompson stepped away from full-time competitive golf in 2024, but has returned to a part-time schedule in 2025. Her recent performances demonstrate her continued competitiveness, with strong finishes at both the Dow Championship and the Meijer LPGA Classic. Her participation adds significant star power to the Kroger Queen City Championship field.

Hull Seeking Redemption

Charley Hull will be looking to improve upon her 2023 result at TPC River’s Bend, where she narrowly missed out on the championship title after losing in a playoff. Her strong performance at the AIG Women’s Open indicates she is in good form as she prepares for the Kroger Queen City Championship.

The presence of these top players, along with the $2 million purse, is expected to draw significant attention to the Kroger Queen City Championship and solidify its position as a key event on the LPGA Tour schedule.
