LG Electronics has begun accepting preorders for its new UltraGear evo gaming monitors, debuting at CES 2026. The lineup features three flagship models – the 39GX950B, 27GM950B and 52G930B – all boasting 5K or higher resolutions and incorporating LG’s new 5K AI Upscaling technology. This technology aims to enhance image quality in real-time, offering near-5K clarity even without a high-end graphics card.

AI-Powered Upscaling and OLED Technology

A key feature of the UltraGear evo monitors is the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology. This built-in processor enhances external inputs to the monitor’s native resolution in real time, without adding latency. According to LG, this allows users to enjoy up to 5K resolution even with existing gaming setups that may not fully support it. The AI system also optimizes scenes and adjusts audio output for a more immersive experience.

The 39GX950B is a 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor utilizing Primary RGB Tandem OLED technology. This technology is designed to improve brightness, color accuracy, and panel longevity, delivering perfect blacks and lifelike colors. The monitor features a 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide screen, maintaining the vertical height of a 32-inch display while expanding the horizontal space. It operates at 142 PPI and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

The 39GX950B offers Dual Mode, allowing users to switch between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD. Its response time is 0.03ms (GtG), providing options for both visual quality and competitive gaming.

Addressing Mini LED Blooming with New Technology

The 27GM950B is LG’s first 5K New MiniLED display, specifically engineered to mitigate the blooming effect often seen in high-resolution MiniLED screens. This monitor incorporates 2,304 local dimming zones and utilizes Zero Optical Distance technology, minimizing the gap between the panel and backlighting to reduce light bleed.

With 1.5 times more local dimming zones and up to 5.9 times more LEDs than conventional MiniLED displays, the 27GM950B aims to deliver superior peak brightness and clearer visuals.

UltraGear evo Lineup and Availability

The UltraGear evo lineup also includes the 52G930B model, offering a larger display option. All three models – 39GX950B, 27GM950B, and 52G930B – share the foundation of high-resolution excellence and the benefits of LG’s AI-powered upscaling technology.

Preorders for the LG UltraGear evo monitors are now open. LG is also offering a promotion of 2-years Premium Care for $1 with new UltraGear preorders and 10% back in MyLG Rewards Points on LG TVs through May 3rd.

LG announced the UltraGear evo brand on December 26, 2025, expanding its leadership in high-resolution gaming displays. The company aims to combine ultra-high definition, speed, and immersion across multiple form factors with this new lineup.
