Mixed Doubles and Women’s Doubles Shine
The Chinese mixed doubles pair Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi won two straight sets, 21-13, 21-11, defeating the Ukrainian pair Oleksiy/Kantmir, and advancing to the top 16.
In the women’s doubles, Li Wenmei/Zhang Shuxian defeated the Chinese Taipei combination Zhang Jinghui/Yang Jingdun 21-17, 21-9.
Men’s Doubles and Singles See Chinese Players Advance
Liang Weiheng/Wang Chang made their first appearance after the Olympics, defeating Popov Jr./Popov Sr. 22-20/21-16 in straight sets, and advancing to the men’s doubles top 16.
Shi Yuqi easily advanced to the top 16 in the men’s singles, defeating Wang Gaolun 2-0 in two straight sets. He will face Indonesian player Ginting in the next round.

Women’s Singles See Wang Zhiyi Advance Smoothly
No. 3 seed Wang Zhiyi defeated Danish player Mia 2-0 and successfully advanced to the top 16. The scores of the two games were: 21-14, 21-12.

Regrets in the First Round
Guo Xinwa/Chen Fanghui lost to their opponents in three hard-fought games and missed the next round. Xie Haonan/Zeng Weihan lost to the Malaysian pair and missed the next round. Chen Boyang/Liu Yi lost to the Fei Ding combination and were eliminated in the first round. Lu Guangzu lost to Li Jiahao in three hard-fought games and unfortunately stopped in the first round.
