IRVING, TX – Tulane Green Wave diver Libby Brewer continues to dominate in the American Athletic Conference, earning her fifth Freshman Diver of the Week award on , the league announced Tuesday. The recognition comes after a strong performance in a non-team scoring meet against LSU on .
Brewer’s performance at the LSU Natatorium was highlighted by a second-place finish on the platform with a score of 218.25, a new collegiate and personal best. This score also ranks second all-time in Tulane program history for the platform event. She also secured a third-place finish on the 3-meter springboard, recording a score of 228.23.
This latest award marks Brewer’s fifth weekly conference honor this season, solidifying her position as a standout freshman in the American Athletic Conference. The Green Wave have now accumulated a total of 11 weekly awards throughout the 2025-26 season and 21 over the past two seasons, demonstrating the program’s growing success and depth of talent.
The meet against LSU served as a final tune-up for Tulane before the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championships, scheduled to take place in Greensboro, North Carolina, from to . The Green Wave will be looking to build on their recent successes and achieve a strong finish at the championship meet.
Beyond Brewer’s impressive performance, several other Tulane divers posted notable results at LSU. Kelsey Weddington finished second on the 3-meter dive with a season-best score of 247.75 and achieved a career-best 170.70 points on the platform, placing third. Maya Superfon recorded season-best scores of 217.35 on the 3-meter and a career-high 163.73 on the platform. Eva Shawver also set season-best marks with 201.98 points on the 3-meter and a career-high 157.58 on the platform. Tannah Proudfoot totaled 220.80 points in the 3m and 133.80 in the platform.
The strong showing at LSU underscores the depth and talent within the Tulane diving program, and the coaching staff’s ability to develop a competitive roster. The team’s success this season has been particularly noteworthy, with the program achieving 54 top 10 school marks, including 10 school records, during the 2024-25 season. They also secured six event victories, 28 overall all-conference marks, and a third-place overall finish at the league championship meet. Head Coach Amanda Caldwell and her staff were recognized for their achievements, being named the American’s Coaching Staff of the Year.
The program’s success extends beyond the pool, with 10 athletes qualifying for the National Championship Invitational, three divers earning bids to the Zone D Diving Championship, four swimmers named to the Academic All-District team by the College Sports Communicators, and six earning CSCAA Scholar All-American honors. Tulane also achieved nine NCAA ‘B’ cuts and placed fifth at the CSCAA Open Water Championships, accumulating 10 American Conference Weekly honors throughout the season.
