Al-Masri Team Secures Victory Over Al-Hilal in African Confederation Cup
Al-Masri team, Port Said, emerged victorious against their Libyan opponents Al-Hilal, winning 5-3 on penalties in the African Confederation Cup competition for the 2024-25 season.
The highly anticipated match took place at the “Army” stadium of Borg El Arab in Alexandria, marking the second leg of the 32nd round of Confederation of Nations matches on Sunday.

Baher Al-Mohammadi scored the first goal with an own goal in the sixteenth minute, giving Libya’s Al-Hilal an early lead.
However, striker Salah Mohsen quickly equalized for the hosts in the 18th minute, bringing the score to 1-1.
Salah Mohsen continued to make his presence felt, adding a second goal in the 39th minute. Tunisian substitute Fakhreddin Ben Youssef further extended the lead, doubling the score in the 85th minute.
Striker Onana reduced the deficit for Libyan side Hilal Benghazi in the 89th minute, forcing the match into a penalty shootout, mirroring the result of the first leg.
Ultimately, Al-Masri’s team, Port Said, secured their spot in the group stage of the African Confederation of Nations for the 2024-25 season, winning the penalty shootout 5-3.
