Hanoi, Vietnam – The Military Institute of preventive Medicine stands as the central pillar of preventive healthcare within the Vietnamese army, safeguarding the health and well-being of soldiers and the broader population. Since the beginning of 2024, the Institute’s dedication has been evident in its rigorous analysis of thousands of specimens, water, and food samples. Dedicated teams have been deployed to monitor HIV/AIDS trends and implement proactive epidemic prevention strategies.
Beyond its routine duties, the Institute actively engages in cutting-edge scientific research, earning accolades at the Army Creative Youth Award.It also fosters international collaborations to enhance its professional capabilities and meet the evolving demands of its mission.
During a recent inspection, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc commended the Institute’s unwavering commitment to professional excellence, scientific advancement, and comprehensive training programs. He emphasized the importance of the Institute’s role as the frontline of defense in military preventive medicine, urging them to strengthen epidemic forecasting and surveillance efforts.Looking ahead, Lieutenant General Duc stressed the need for the Institute to prioritize the research and request of innovative technologies to improve epidemic prevention, ensure food and environmental safety, and cultivate a highly skilled workforce. He also highlighted the critical role of digital change in epidemiological management, research, and surveillance. This digital evolution will pave the way for a modern, standardized military preventive medicine system, ultimately contributing to the improved health and well-being of both soldiers and the Vietnamese people.
