Tung Chung Waterfront Lantern Festival Starts Today

The Lantau Sustainable Office of the Department of Civil Engineering and Development will hold the Tung Chung Promenade Lantern Festival “Full Moon in the Sky. Let’s Chase Dreams Together” on the Tung Chung East Promenade from today to the 22nd of this month to celebrate the festival with the public.
Festival Layout and Attractions
The layout of the “Lantern Festival” is space-themed and designed by veteran director and contemporary artist Kan Yiu-chung. The promenade is equipped with a six-meter-high rocket and an aerospace jade rabbit, a large luminous moon chair, eight planets, cute jade rabbits and other luminous decorations are hung. Lanterns created by hundreds of kindergarten and primary school students are also on display.
Lighting Time and Special Events
The lighting time of the “Lantern Festival” is from 19:00 to 22:00 every day. During the Mid-Autumn Festival and the following day (17th and 18th), a series of activities held at the venue on these two evenings will be extended to midnight and 23:00 respectively.
