National Style Yuntai: A Night Carnival of Traditional Chinese Culture
Yuntai Garden has launched a night carnival with the theme of “National Style Yuntai” to celebrate the National Day in 2024. The event features a series of works by emerging artists, interesting gameplays, and a showcase of traditional Chinese culture and national style.
The carnival time is from 18:30 to 22:30, and the event will last until November 2. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including a lighting installation, a giant parrot in the shape of a cybernetic mecha, and a Cantonese “teeth-like” display.
One of the highlights of the event is the allusion riddles that combine a series of character scenes such as the Three Kingdoms and the Tang Dynasty presented by animation IPs such as “If History is a Group of Cats”. Visitors can take photos, check in, and discuss and study historical events with each other.
The lighting installation has also been upgraded, adding a giant parrot in the shape of a cybernetic mecha derived from copper chisel paper-cutting works, and a Cantonese “teeth-like” display. The integrity of the “Golden Envoy” and the auspicious “Sincere Dragon and Lion Ceremony” interpret the exquisite skills of traditional intangible cultural heritage with vivid and lovely images.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of performances, including hairpin fish and lanterns dancing together, roly-poly ladies from the Tang Dynasty, and wild people returning to their original nature interacting. The NPC in the park walks from the stage to the lantern installation, and the laser canopy and psychedelic lights cover the forest stage.
The event has attracted many citizens and tourists, who are enjoying the traditional Chinese culture and national style on display. A “young” curatorial team, a “young” traditional craft, and a group of “young” tourists are confidently showing their charm in a “young” Yuntai Garden, making the national style a new bridge connecting the world.
