A Prolific Year Continues for Lil baby
It’s been a remarkably productive year for rapper Lil Baby, and the momentum shows no signs of slowing. On Friday, August 15, he announced the release date and tracklist for his forthcoming project, The Leaks.
Set to drop on September 5, the 17-song effort will feature tracks that have already been circulating among fans, embracing the culture of online music sharing. The project includes the Playboi Carti collaboration “Let’s Do It,” now officially featuring Skooly, and another track with Young Thug – the nature of which remains to be seen, potentially revisiting the pointed lyrical exchange with Gunna and Yak Gotti as previously reported.
Beyond the Leaks: A Star-Studded Lineup
The Leaks boasts a compelling roster of guest appearances, including G Herbo, Veeze, Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Yachty, and LUCKI. This diverse lineup promises a dynamic listening experience for fans.
From Leaks to a Full Album: A Creative Approach
During a livestream with plaqueboymax on August 9, lil Baby explained the concept behind The Leaks. “I really just took a couple of songs that I already got leaked and just created a whole album around it,” he stated. He acknowledged that many of the circulating versions weren’t the final mixes, but embraced the existing fan familiarity by officially releasing them as The Leaks.
Another Album on the Horizon?
The surprise didn’t end there. Lil Baby revealed plans to release another album approximately four weeks after The Leaks. While the title remains unconfirmed, speculation points towards the long-anticipated Dominique. Originally slated for a Febuary release, and then rescheduled for “eight weeks” in March, the project has remained elusive – until now, perhaps.
building on Recent Success
This announcement follows the release of Lil Baby’s fourth studio album, WHAM, in January. WHAM delivered hits like “F U 2x” and “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber,” featuring young Thug and Future, solidifying his position as a leading force in contemporary rap.
