Rapper Offset was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury on April 6, 2026, following a shooting in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The incident occurred around 7:22 p.m. On April 6, after a fight broke out between two groups of men. According to Seminole police, the conflict involved members of a group associated with rapper Lil Tjay and a group accompanying Offset.
Court records and police reports indicate that Tione Jayden Merritt, known professionally as Lil Tjay, sent members of his group to engage in a fight with the men with Offset. Surveillance footage showed Merritt using a mobile phone to record the altercation as it unfolded.
During the confrontation, one of the men accompanying Merritt produced a firearm and shot Offset. Police officers were on-site immediately following the gunfire and stated that the situation was contained quickly.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
Following the incident, Lil Tjay was detained and subsequently booked into the Broward County Jail. He has been charged with disorderly conduct — affray, which is classified as a misdemeanor.
While Merritt was arrested in connection with the incident, police have clarified that he has not been charged in connection with the shooting itself. Attorney Dawn M. Florio released a statement confirming that Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting

Authorities initially detained two individuals at the scene on Monday night. However, by Tuesday morning, police announced that one of those individuals was not facing charges. The investigation to identify additional persons involved in the shooting remains ongoing.
Medical Status of Offset
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. Hospital officials confirmed the injury was non-life-threatening.
While the exact nature of the injury has not been detailed by police, a spokesperson told TMZ that the rapper is doing fine
. He has remained under observation at the local hospital following the shooting.
