The Allegations: Misappropriated funds and Recruitment Practices
Jennifer O’Carroll, the firm’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) and a resident of Limerick, Ireland, alleges that Karl Bohlin spent approximately €100,000 of company funds on leasing homes in Dubai and China for women he had hired. She further claims these women were initially identified through “various illicit websites” Irish Times Report.Ms. O’Carroll,in her early 40s,is seeking to be restored to her positions as director and company secretary.
In an affidavit, Ms. O’Carroll expressed growing concerns about Mr. Bohlin’s management of the business in the months leading up to her suspension. She characterized the spending as ”extravagant personal spending” and indicative of broader issues within the company.
Legal Proceedings and Court Orders
On Thursday,october 17,2024,Mr. Justice Brian cregan of the High court granted Gary McCarthy SC,representing Ms. O’Carroll, permission to serve proceedings at short notice. The proceedings were served ex parte, meaning only ms. O’Carroll’s legal team was present RTÉ News Report. The defendants named in the proceedings are HansaWorld Ireland Ltd, HansaWorld Holding Ltd, and HansaWorld Inc Ltd.
Ms. O’Carroll is seeking orders to prevent alleged interference in her role as COO and to restore her to her previous positions within the company.
