Fundraising Event Inspired by Netflix Series
Kisteen House Hotel was packed on[DateofEvent-[DateofEvent-[DateofEvent-[DateofEvent-to be verified]for a sporting event benefiting Pallasgreen GAA‘s field growth project, which aims to build a new stand and walkway. The event, inspired by the Netflix show Squid Game, drew over 400 attendees and raised a total of €10,000.
Competition and Championship
Thirty contestants participated in a series of challenges to determine the last person standing. After a night of “laughter, excitement, and healthy competition,” the final showdown was between Michael Hally and Christian O’Dwyer. Christian O’Dwyer was crowned Pallasgreen GAA Quid Champion.
O’Dwyer’s victory resulted in a €7,000 donation to Milford Care Center, a local healthcare facility, and a €3,000 prize for himself.
Honoring All-Ireland Champion
The event also included a special recognition for Colin Ryan, who earlier in 2024 won the All-Ireland Poc Fada competition. The presentation was made by his father and Pallasgreen GAA club chairman, denis ryan, adding a personal touch to the evening.
Gratitude and Acknowledgements
Pallasgreen GAA expressed its gratitude to the organizing committee, who dedicated three months to planning the event, and to the main sponsors, Lee’s Centra and St Ailbe’s Credit Union. Thanks were also extended to those who sponsored contestants, donated raffle prizes, attended the event, and to MC Valerie Wheeler and photographer Aoife Kiely.
The club notably thanked the 30 contestants for their “tireless fundraising efforts,” which exceeded expectations.
