Waste Dumping results in €300 in Fines Near Limerick City

Fines totalling €300 were imposed on Anne Marie Stephenson and Adam Stephenson following the discovery of a notable quantity of waste on the outskirts of Limerick city.
Limerick District Court heard the waste included a wooden rowing boat, mattresses, windows, Bulmers cider packaging, and a paint tin. The waste was found near a local river.
A waste enforcement officer testified that the waste was discovered on January 29, 2025, after a complaint from a member of the public. Documentation linking the waste to the Stephensons was found in plastic and shopping bags.
Notably, the remaining waste disappeared overnight before it could be collected by Limerick City and County Council. The officer stated, “We don’t know who collected it, It was gone.”
