The British & Irish Lions are teaming up with ‍TikTok to enhance their global presence. The partnership ⁤aims to offer exclusive content and behind-the-scenes access via #Lions2025, showcasing the‍ team’s unique makeup of ⁤players‍ from England, Ireland, Scotland, and ‍Wales.

To kick off the‍ collaboration, TikTok creators from Ireland and the UK joined the Lions, providing fresh perspectives on the tour. Shane Whelan, Director of Digital, Marketing & Communications at The British & Irish Lions, ⁤said TikTok is a priority platform to reach⁢ more fans ahead of‍ the Qatar Airways Lions Men’s ‍Tour ⁤to Australia 2025.

Whelan added that the ⁤partnership is integral to their most ⁤ambitious social and content plan for‍ a Lions ⁣Tour.

UK Government Invests in Sports

The UK government has committed over £900 million⁣ to major sporting events and grassroots facilities. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy outlined the funding, ‍with more than £500 million earmarked for international events in the UK.

Events include the men’s and women’s Tour de France Grand Départs in 2027, Men’s ⁢UEFA EURO 2028 (co-hosted with ⁢Ireland), and the European Athletics Championships 2026 in birmingham. EURO 2028 alone ‍is projected to generate up to £2.4 billion in socio-economic value across the UK.

A minimum⁤ of £400 million will be invested in new ⁣and upgraded⁢ grassroots sports⁤ facilities over the next four years, according to the DCMS.

Nick webborn, Chair of UK Sport, welcomed the government’s commitment to hosting‍ major events, noting their potential to drive economic growth and inspire communities.

hull KR and North Queensland Cowboys Join Forces

Hull Kingston Rovers (Hull KR) have partnered with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys of the NRL to develop pathways on and off the field. the clubs have been ⁤collaborating for six months to create a ‍mutually beneficial‍ partnership.

Three virtual cross-club working groups will meet monthly across first team, academy, and commercial areas. The⁣ chief executives will meet bi-monthly to review progress.

Both teams will be in Las vegas in early 2026 for Super League and NRL events and ⁤will participate in a training ⁣session before the matches at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 28, 2026. Hull KR Chief Executive Paul Lakin said this is a⁣ fantastic possibility to understand the inner workings of‍ a well-resourced NRL club.

RBC ⁤and Supertri Bring Back Race for the Kids

RBC and Supertri have partnered to revive the RBC Race‍ for the Kids Jersey, coinciding with the Supertri League Jersey race. RBC will also serve as the community partner for the triathlon.

The Jersey Child Care Trust (JCCT) is ⁢the⁢ official charity partner for Race for the Kids,with funds supporting JCCT’s work with children in Jersey. Michael D’hulst, Supertri Co-Founder and CEO, said the partnership combines world-class sport and community purpose.
