Today, the China Journalists Association released the list and amount of assistance for China’s journalist assistance projects in 2024. A total of 155 journalists from 8 central news units and 112 local news units received assistance of 4.99 million yuan. This is the 11th consecutive year that the China Journalists Association has provided assistance to journalists who died in the line of duty, were disabled or seriously ill while performing their journalistic duties.

In order to be closer to the actual needs of the journalism community and effectively enhance the timeliness of news assistance work, this year the China Journalist Assistance Project focuses on improving innovation and optimizing the implementation process, launching emergency assistance procedures for the first time, piloting the batch assistance working mechanism, and actively mobilizing the Journalists Association system organization Strength, provide timely support and assistance to journalists who have outstanding performance in the reporting and editing positions and journalists whose families are in greater difficulties, and help solve urgent needs as soon as possible.

In March 2013, Su Quanbao, director of the Integrated Media Center of Eryuan County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, interviewed and reported on the recovery and reconstruction of Eryuan County after the “3.3” earthquake in Shangtie Township.

They interpret the mission of journalists with their enthusiasm for the party’s news and public opinion cause.

Since the China Journalists Association established the China Journalist Assistance Project in 2014, in the past 11 years, it has provided a total of 30.14 million yuan in aid to 720 journalists from 385 news media who died, became disabled, or became seriously ill while performing their journalistic duties.
