“Happy to give The Newsroom bar a one star review. The owner hosted a watch party for the Bears vs Packers playoff game. And for some reason excepted no one to show up, so was completely unprepared and starting screaming at people and was incredibly rude. If you could not handle hosting a watch party you should have not thrown one. I take the Metra and had not been here before now I know not to go there. Do not go here, I will not recommend The News Room Bar. If the owner is trying copy the famous bar where the staff are rude on purpose he failed.”

“Convenient, but extremely rude staff. The only bartender was incredibly unprofessional. When we arrived, we asked for waters to start and she informed us that She could sell us bottles of water but couldn’t give us a glass without buying something. I informed her we had two hours to kill and were most definitely planning on buying quite a few things. A few minutes later, the waters were slammed in front of us with an apathetic sigh. She didn’t both to ask us what we would like, didn’t provide us with any menus, just walked away. We waited a few more minutes as she just stood at the opposite”

“Terrible bartender. I asked him to put on the Blackhawks game. He told me he didn't like hockey and was watching the program that was on. Which he wasn't even watching because he was more worried about flirting with and trying to impress his bimbo girlfriend at the bar. I've had some terrible service, this tops it all. Don't waste your time going here, even if you do have to wait for a train. And if your the owner/manager at least hire someone who isn't a complete JACKASS. I don't mind paying $8 for a beer. Yes, $8 for 1 regular beer, but at least offer a glass.”

“Asked for water, was told I'd would be charged unless we bought a drink, cash only. I said okay, can I see a menu, In return I got an apathetic "no menu" so I asked for specials "no specials". Bartender went back to what she was doing and completely ignored me and my partner for about 10 minutes. These people are unbelievably rude. We walked out.”

“The News Room is a great bar in Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago. It is located on the second floor, by the Hudson newsagent shop. You can drink there, or you can get a beverage to go if you're catching a train in the station. They have a good selection of beer, wine, and hard liquors.”
