What visitors are saying

“Worst customer service, was contacted about updating payment, told them not to update and I did not want to renew my subscription. Fast forward a few weeks and I woke up to find a charge without updating the payment. I contacted tribune customer service and was told they cannot reverse the charge. I DO NOT RECCOMEND”

“Updating delivery address and reporting delivery issues on the website is often broken. There’s no way to get any insight into carrier delivery. Customer support on the phone is not very helpful.”

— John Tunstall · ★☆☆☆☆

“I would leave zero stars if I could. We are long time subscribers (30+ years) but the atrocious customer service and their billing practices are just too much. My invoice for this year is 60% higher than last year. There’s no consideration given for customer loyalty. None. And if you want to speak to customer service, all calls have been outsourced to an overseas location. It’s unfortunate to see and experience what was once a great company with a great product allow themselves to be reduced to what they are today.”

“Nice Square. Clean and many transport options. Buses mostly. It's short walk from Shereton Grand Hotel. Where we stayed. From Shereton grand come out turn left cross road walk across street level square will come after illy cafe and then turn left again over the river bridge you will enter downtown area for shopping. From Lowe hotel and Shereton grand its not more than 10 to 12 min. Walk. Enjoy.”

“You can sign up online but not cancel online, interesting”

— Ian Hyzy · ★☆☆☆☆

“I have never been so upset and disappointed than I have been with the Chicago Tribune. The only way you can cancel is to call a local number and the representatives are horrible to work with. I have tried several times cancelling and they will not listen to me. I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager and they won't transfer me. These days you should be able to just go online and cancel. I understand the newspaper business is dying but you should not upset the few customers you have left. I had to cancel my subscription thru my credit card. Do not sign up. Plenty of other news sources ou”

— Jill Janeck · ★☆☆☆☆

“Worst customer service ever! First, you cannot cancel your subscription online. Second, I called and cancelled mine, then a month later they charge me again. I call back and explain and all they offer is to cancel it again, refusing to issue a refund after there mistake. Should have listened to my family who quit on the tribune a long time ago”

— Josh Tutwiler · ★☆☆☆☆

“This repugnant approach to the consumer is a slap in the face to our community of which they claim to be a part of. Customer service is a joke to them. They are not a reputable business but good model of cooperate greed. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and after months of attempting to resolve what should have been resolved with one correspondence. It does not shock me to find I am just one of many complaining about the same issue. They clearly lack the capacity to maintain order within their organization.”

— Dann Jochum · ★☆☆☆☆

“Do not subscribe to the Chicago Tribune during the promotional periods. They make it impossible to cancel. You may think you are cancelled after calling them but they don’t follow through and you continue to get billed.”

— Gary Jordan · ★☆☆☆☆

“I have been getting the ad paper delivered to my house for a long time. The delivery person throws them on my driveway, like you do scribe else's. I have called at least 8-10 different times to have delivery stop, as I wish not to receive or pick up the paper to throw in the trash. And today I find another...smh”
