“I eagerly look forward to reading the Houston Chronicles top 100 restaurant list. This year was no exception. There were new restaurants to consider and previous restaurants to consider visiting again. My opinion, the information is very useful, well organized, detailed, and of course interesting to read. Excellent work Chronicle!”

“Deceptive trade practices. I knew there would be hassles trying to cancel the subscription and actually I was only on hold about 30 minutes but turns out the offer that states you will be charged at the END of your introductory period is false. They charge you 10 days BEFORE the introductory period ends. The wording of the billing terms is intentionally misleading and contradicts itself from the first sentence of the introductory offer. I’m currently considering a class action lawsuit. It’s a shame they deceive their customers rather than offer a clear fair price and easy cancellation.”

“They have Overnight parking in front of Docks. When u take exit from Highway and docks are in Westpark Dr(street) side u will enter there and park u r truck. First Go to security office they will let u know where u can to drop paperwork and go to office. Unloading fast. No restrooms allowed i think.”

“I subscribed to the paper in SEP and have received ZERO papers. I have called now 4 times and was told it would be fixed it would be fixed. Finally I cancelled and was told no refund for the 90.93 spent on papers that never came. They will process the last 2 payments as a refund… insane. Unjust and straight up poor treatment of customers. When I asked how to make sure this didn’t happen to other customers I was given a general email to “express myself”.”

“The Houston Chronicle has become a total rag, I hesitate to say that they even practice journalism anymore because it's little more than a community flyer filled with articles about restaurants closing and real estate. Maybe that is why they have to be so cagey about their subscriptions. I signed up for a free trial and they don't tell you that they are going to charge you 10 days before trial ends, then refuse to issue a refund. I guess they need the money since they are on life support. You're welcome for the "donation" I just made.”

“Must've lucked out sooo far. Called twice, first time a general question 2. to change from delivery to digital and calls were answered within 5min. and to my satisfaction. Will update if things go off the rails.”

“Consistent with other reviews, the chronicle makes it so hard to cancel. No online option and awful engagement via phone. My payment had expired so, rather than suffer what you guys call a cancellation policy, I just didn’t reset it. You all apparently have some sort of grace period which makes no sense, continuing to provide your services despite there being nonpayment, and charging as an outstanding balance. This is unheard of and ridiculous. It is clear you are trying to steal money from people. When I shared this the SUPERVISOR of the customer service area, he informed me MY expectat”

“Unbelievable untrustworthy company DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM, BEWARE. I signed up for a 5.99 a week subscription and THEY signed me up for EXTRA stuff and the persons that I talked on the phone with have been a NIGHTMARE TO DRAL WITH First person I talked to within 2 weeks of subscription, when I noticed OVER CHARGES, said he WOULDN'T help me, to deal with my credit card company, I did and they keep on delivering the paper after I told them to CANCEL. Second person I spoke with said there are NO RECORDS that I called to cancel And that if I didn't pay they will send it to COLLECTIONS Your com”

“Good luck trying to cancel their online subscription. They make it impossible to cancel, no online cancellation, gotta call and is a hassle to get thru. Bad business practices.”
