What visitors are saying
“This is a cool museum with shipwreck artifacts that the owner dove and brought up himself! Knowing that made seeing all the pieces even cooler. We had a lot of fun digging for treasure in the sand out back and the titanic VR was interesting. Everyone working there was friendly and made our visit more enjoyable.”

“I loved this museum! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous recreation of the stairwell in the titanic movie. You then go explore the museum. They have hundreds of unique artifacts pulled up from shipwrecks, from bottles to swords in concretion to gold bars. There are tons of great things to check out. However, if you can only make one nautical stop in Saint Augustine, either this museum or the pirate treasure museum, I suggest the pirate treasure museum due to its size, themeing, and cooler artifacts.”

“This museum is hugely overpriced for what you get. The artifacts are cool but not well-presented. Like there are pieces from shipwrecks but you don't know what wreck they came from. The museum also is lacking descriptions of the shipwrecks themselves. Some of the items are actually just props from the set of the movie Titanic. I think this museum lacked coherence overall. You can't just put out old pieces without explanation of what they are from, given that this is a Shipwreck museum. The little movie theater was much too small and right from the start, the movie did not draw us in - it is so”

“Loved it!! Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was awesome! Their claim to fame is stuff from the Titanic and the movie, but there are other wrecks talked about as well. Thought it was completely fascinating! The audio tour was great, though we had to pause it cuz we wanted to watch the videos in the exhibits as well. I searched for buried treasure in the back and found a Chinese coin- woot! The Titanic sinking VR was AWESOME. Super sobering, but really cool. I recommend that one over the exploration one unless you have sensitivities to seeing sad/tragic stuff on screen.”

“Admission is high and the experience underwhelming. The movie theater experience was laughable (volume so low we couldn’t hear). What is with the random low resolution images at the start of the video? There was a small poster showing the Titanics radio range which was very interesting (and something we hadn’t seen before). You’d think a place called St. Augustine Shipwreck Museum would have more on shipwrecks along the Florida coast.”

“Super cool! Especially if you love shipwrecks…. They even have a sandpit with metal detectors in the back (with real shipwreck coins and replicas) as well as a hunt to find numbers that open a trunk with real treasure in it. The museum upstairs is neat as well. The owners were present as well. They were super nice and able to answer lots of questions!”

“Museum is full of artifacts (authentic and reproduction) from shipwrecks around the world. Heavy emphasis on Titanic, including video of the recovery effort (disappointing); and several ship models with exquisite details. Displays are well lighted and labeled. Ticket price seemed reasonable.”

“St. Augustine, FL. Steve loves “The Curse of Oak Island” and the idea of treasure hunts so he loved this compact, full-to-the-gills museum. It’s a two-story building with a little theater upstairs showing a narrated exploration of the Titanic; many fascinating finds from real shipwrecks; artifacts from all over the world in superb condition; intricate models of ships from the past; and many items used on the set of the Titanic movie. Downstairs is a wonderful gift shop and a room where you can use a metal detector in the sand and keep what you find! I loved the gift shop. It had replicas of”

“I stumbled upon this location as I was walking through St. Augustine. Recovered articles from various ship wrecks dating back several hundred years. Great museum to visit if you’re in the area! Great exhibits such James Cameron’s Titanic movie props, to actual White Star Line dish wares. Awesome VR of the Titanic experience you should check out too!”
— Aleks · ★★★★★ · 2023-7-11
“The artifacts are interesting but it was a bit pricey for the few things you see, much of which had little explanation. The metal detecting activity seemed to be a hunt for a nonexistent key...it should have been fun instead of frustrating.”
