Nut allergies have been rapidly increasing since 2014 due to increased consumption.
Nowadays, the “double antigen exposure hypothesis” has become the basic idea for food allergies, and based on this hypothesis, making the skin smooth and starting oral intake early in infancy will prevent the onset of allergies. Although clinical trials have demonstrated the preventive effects of baby food.”>early intake of foods such as eggs and peanuts, nuts should not be consumed by children under 5 years of age due to concerns about choking and aspiration. It has also become clear that it is difficult to recommend early intake of nuts at home.
Therefore, at the Allergy Center, we have developed a recipe for nuts that can be started even during the baby food period, in consultation with registered dietitians who are experts in baby food, parents, etc., and with this recipe, you can easily continue to eat nuts at home. We are conducting research to determine whether this is the case.
This product is intended for those who have children between the ages of 5 and 18 months who are in the weaning period.
We will be holding a trial production and tasting event at our center, so please come and join us.
An allergist will also explain the recipe and provide guidance on how to feed it to your child.
Please see the research pamphlet for details. If you would like to participate, please fill out the application form.
*What is the double antigen exposure theory?
The hypothesis is that allergy occurs when food allergens enter through inflamed skin, but when food is orally ingested in the appropriate amount and timing, it actually induces immune tolerance that suppresses allergic reactions.
