Apple Vision Pro will feature a new version of the popular game, Little Cities: Diorama. This game merges the real world with a virtual city built by players. With the high-quality mixed reality capabilities of Vision Pro, this edition promises to be the best yet.
Little Cities: Diorama is a collaboration between Purple Yonder, the game’s developer, and Near Light from nDreams Studio. Players can build a mini-metropolis and integrate it into their home environment. The original game, which launched in May 2022, received critical acclaim and won the NYX Gold Award for Meta Quest – Evolving Game, along with nominations for several other awards.
The game will be available on Apple Arcade starting December 5, following Apple’s announcement of 15 new titles to expand its catalog.
Apple Vision Pro needs a standout title, such as Batman: Arkham Shadow, to gain more traction. However, Apple Arcade has been effective in introducing mixed reality and virtual reality games that perform well on visionOS.
Another title to keep an eye on is Synth Riders, which impressed during a demonstration at WWDC 2024. This game showcases a passion for music and, thanks to its inclusion in Apple Arcade, players won’t face in-app purchases. Instead, song packs will be available as part of the experience.
As someone who enjoyed creating towns in video games as a child, the launch of Little Cities: Diorama next month is highly anticipated.
