Brooks Koepka, a five-time LIV tour winner, withdrew from a LIV Golf round. He was replaced by Mexican reserve Luis Carrera. Their combined score will count toward Smash GC’s team score.
LIV officials said Koepka is eligible to return for the second and third rounds. However, his score would only contribute to his individual standing in the LIV golf event, not the team’s.
LIV events feature both individual and team competitions. Golfers begin simultaneously on different holes in a format known as a shotgun start.
