Graeme McDowell delivered a solid performance at teh LIV Golf tournament, posting a bogey-free 66 on Sunday. His round included five birdies at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.However, heavy rain caused two weather delays, disrupting his momentum.
The 45-year-old golfer had an opportunity to match Joaquin Niemann’s 15-under score on the final green after a birdie on the 17th. Ultimately, he missed the putt to the left.
“I’m happy with the fight. It was tough to keep the momentum going with the breaks,” McDowell said. He also jokingly inquired about Niemann’s caddie’s strategy during the second delay.
McDowell, a four-time Ryder Cup player, acknowledged the challenges of maintaining composure under pressure. He noted that he drove the ball well adn felt comfortable overall.
“It’s hard to play loose when you need it, when you kind of haven’t been there for a while,” McDowell said.
