LivaNova Appoints Stefano Folli as President of Cardiopulmonary

On May 21, 2026, LivaNova PLC, a medical technology company, announced the appointment of Stefano Folli as the incoming President of its Cardiopulmonary (CP) business. The appointment is effective June 1, 2026.

Folli succeeds Franco Poletti, who is scheduled to retire on July 31, 2026. To facilitate a seamless leadership transition, Folli will work closely with Poletti over the next two months before assuming full responsibility for the Cardiopulmonary business on August 1, 2026.

As part of this new role, Folli will join the LivaNova Executive Leadership Team and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Vladimir Makatsaria.

Management of Cardiopulmonary Business

Folli is tasked with overseeing the strategic growth of LivaNova’s Cardiopulmonary division, which is valued at nearly $800 million. The business unit provides a comprehensive range of equipment and disposables, including the Essenz™ Perfusion System.

Stefano is an accomplished healthcare and medtech executive with a sharp blend of strategic vision and operational excellence. With more than three decades of experience, he is known for his authentic, inspiring ability to lead teams to foster innovation, unlock talent potential and deliver exceptional results. He will work to ensure a smooth transition ahead of Franco’s retirement later this summer.

Professional Background and Experience

Folli joins LivaNova following a 16-year tenure at Philips. Most recently, he served as the Executive Vice President and Global President of Ambulatory Monitoring & Diagnostics, where his responsibilities included leading the business, integrating acquisitions, and managing global market leadership.

During his time at Philips, Folli held several other senior leadership positions, including:

• Executive Vice President and Head of Global Services and Solutions Delivery
• Head of North America Services and Solutions Delivery
• President and CEO of IIG (Italy, Israel, Greece) based in Milan, Italy

Prior to his career at Philips, Folli served as the Chief Executive Officer of Saeco Vending in Bologna, Italy, and held a position as a board director for the Saeco Group.

Folli began his professional career in 1992 as a software development engineer. He holds a master’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Padua.
