Live 95.3 Replaces Energy 95.3 in Bakersfield
## Bakersfield‘s Energy 95.3 Gets a New Vibe: Now “Live 95.3”

Bakersfield’s popular CHR station, formerly known as “Energy 95.3,” has undergone a rebranding, emerging as “Live 95.3.” The station, owned by Alpha Media, made the switch to better align with its sister stations across the contry and solidify its position as “Bakersfield’s Top Hits” station.
Listeners can still tune in to their favorite morning show, “Brooke & Jeffrey,” and the evening program “XYZ with Erik Zachary,” which remain staples of the station’s lineup. The rebrand comes after Alpha Media implemented staffing cuts across several of its stations this past summer.
“Live 95.3” joins a growing network of Alpha media CHR stations using the “Live” branding, including “Live 95.5” in Portland, Oregon, as well as stations in Columbia, South Carolina; Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Hagerstown, Maryland.
The “Energy” brand had been in place since 2015,following Alpha Media’s acquisition of the station and its subsequent shift from Hot AC to CHR.
Despite the recent changes, “Live 95.3” continues to be a strong contender in the Bakersfield radio market. In the October 2024 Nielsen Audio ratings, the station held a 2.2 share, trailing behind American General Media’s competing “Hits 93.1” KKXX, which garnered a 2.8 share.
