Live-Action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Trailer: Hiccup and Toothless Come to Life
Hiccup and Toothless appear in live-action for the first time in the new movie “How to Train Your Dragon.” Universal Studios released the trailer for this adaptation, set to hit theaters on June 13.
Mason Thames plays Hiccup, while Nico Parker plays Astrid, and Julian Dennison portrays Fishlegs Ingerman. Gerard Butler returns to voice Stoick the Vast, Hiccup’s father.
The trailer shows Hiccup, Stoick, and Toothless, resembling their animated versions. Hiccup is tasked with killing a dragon but instead befriends Toothless.
Dean DeBlois, who directed all three animated films, takes on the same roles for this live-action version. The franchise began with the original movie in 2010, followed by the sequels in 2014 and 2019. These films, based on Cressida Cowell’s books, tell the story of Hiccup and his friendship with the dragon Toothless on the Isle of Berk. The series has also expanded to TV shows, theme park attractions, and a live show, earning over $1.6 billion globally.
