American Couple’s Hiking Trip Turns into a Nightmare
Sheila and Fred McCoy, an American couple, went hiking in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky on the 18th of this month, and they started live streaming along the way. Originally, the McCoys wanted to record the climbing process and beautiful scenery, but unexpectedly they found a body linked to a recent mass shooting.
The Discovery of the Body
According to the British “Daily Mail” report, Sierra and Fred were hiking together, taking pictures of the forest scenery along the way. However, halfway through, they discovered a group of vultures gathered in the air above a certain area, one of which was a Vulture, suspected of holding a piece of meat. The couple believed there might be a “special natural scene” ahead of them, so they happily walked towards the spot where vultures had gathered, hoping to capture the natural wonder.
The Couple’s Reaction and the Police Investigation
As the two got closer and closer to their destination, Xie La kept shouting: “I smell a very disgusting smell, very strong, very bad!” The two then followed the direction of the scent and moved on. Fried said they initially thought there might be dead animals, which is why vultures were circling and nibbling. Fred found the location of the body, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a male body, with obvious signs of decay.
As Fred is a retired police sergeant, he did not appear to panic when he saw the scene, but acted very professionally He called the police immediately and led the police to the location where the body was. Police pointed out that a mass shooting occurred on Interstate 75 in Kentucky on September 7. The main man, 32-year-old Joseph Couch, fired 20-30 shots continuously on the road, resulting in several people in the van and the place where a person who was passing was shot and injured.
The Main Suspect and the Autopsy
As for the main suspect, Kou Chu, who escaped after carrying out the shooting, the police believed he fled to the nearby mountains and launched a comprehensive arrest. Now that the McCoys have discovered remains suspected to be Cole’s remains in the Daniel Boone National Forest Police said further autopsies are currently being conducted on the remains to confirm their true identity.
Other reports also stated that Couch was a veteran, but prior to the incident, he sent a terrifying text message to his mother, saying he was going to commit mass murder and then commit suicide.
