Live Summit Middle East: Industry Leaders to Meet in Abu Dhabi – Dec 2026
Abu Dhabi is poised to become a central hub for the global live entertainment industry with the launch of the Live Summit Middle East, a new international event bringing together industry leaders. The inaugural summit, curated by the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) and Pollstar, will take place December 7-8, 2026, at the Hilton Abu Dhabi.
The event aims to foster knowledge-sharing, collaboration and partnership building within the rapidly evolving Middle Eastern market. Approximately 500 senior leaders and decision-makers – including promoters, venue operators, agents, festival organizers, technology innovators, and policymakers – are expected to attend. The program will feature keynotes, panel discussions, roundtables, and curated networking opportunities.
“With the explosion of shows, venues and interest in the Middle East over recent years, the industry needs an annual moment to reflect, exchange and celebrate,” said Greg Parmley, head of ILMC. He emphasized the importance of a “global perspective” in driving the business forward, highlighting the combined reach of ILMC, and Pollstar.
Andy Gensler, Editor in Chief of Pollstar, echoed this sentiment, noting the Middle East’s status as “one of the most dynamic growth markets in live entertainment today.” He pointed to the region’s “world-class touring, rapid venue expansion, and a thriving festival and cultural landscape” as key factors, positioning Abu Dhabi as the “perfect stage” for this gathering.
The choice of Abu Dhabi as the host city reflects the emirate’s growing prominence in the global live entertainment scene. In recent years, Abu Dhabi has attracted major live events to its world-class venues.
Adding a unique dimension to the summit, delegates will have complimentary access to both the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, taking place December 6, and associated concerts. Following the conference, a curated cultural immersion day on December 9, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, will offer attendees a deeper experience of the emirate’s heritage and contemporary attractions.
The Live Summit Middle East represents a significant collaboration between two major players in the live entertainment media landscape. Pollstar, known for its annual Pollstar Live! gathering in North America and the VenuesNow Conference, brings its expertise in connecting industry leaders and showcasing innovation. ILMC, a long-standing meeting point for the international live music industry for nearly four decades, contributes its extensive network and publications like IQ magazine and the International Festival Forum.
The announcement of the Live Summit builds upon ILMC’s existing “Middle East Live” program, which has been a feature of the ILMC conference for the past three years, signaling a deepening commitment to the region.
Producing the event is Ethara, a live entertainment powerhouse responsible for the Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and other major events in the region. Ethara’s in-market experience is expected to ensure the summit effectively serves the needs of the entertainment industry.
Beyond the conference sessions, the Live Summit Middle East will also feature skills development and mentorship opportunities for emerging professionals, as well as the inaugural Live Summit Awards, recognizing excellence in live entertainment across the region. The awards are intended to promote and celebrate achievements within the Middle Eastern live entertainment sector.
The Live Summit Middle East aims to be more than just a conference. it’s positioned as a strategic platform for shaping the future of live entertainment in a region experiencing substantial growth and transformation. The convergence of industry leaders, coupled with the unique timing alongside the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and a dedicated cultural program, suggests a deliberate effort to create a high-impact event that will resonate throughout the global entertainment community.
