Doyle appeared in Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday, facing charges that include wounding and causing grievous bodily harm to six individuals, one of whom is an 11-year-old. The prosecutor, Philip Astbury, told the court that Doyle allegedly “drove deliberately” into the crowd as people were leaving the parade.

Doyle, a resident of West Derby, Liverpool, faces seven charges: two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, and one count of perilous driving. Reporting restrictions prevent the identification of the six victims.
During the court hearing, Doyle confirmed his name, address, and date of birth. richard Derby, defending, stated that there was no indication of his pleas at this stage. The judge, Paul healey, described the case as “truly remarkable” and cited the “very extensive injuries” as a reason for potential further charges.
Astbury argued against bail, citing a “real risk to his safety” and a “ample risk of failing to attend court,” given Doyle’s apparent financial means. Judge Andrew Menary KC later confirmed Doyle woudl remain in custody,citing public interest and concerns for his welfare.
