Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez could be set for a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer. According to recent reports, clubs in Saudi Arabia have shown significant interest in the Uruguayan forward, who has struggled to justify his £85 million price tag since joining the Premier League club from Benfica in 2022. The potential transfer comes as Liverpool looks to bolster their squad ahead of a crucial summer transfer window.

Darwin Nunez Could Leave Liverpool

In the Summer Transfer Window

Fabrizio Romano, a renowned football journalist, revealed that Saudi Pro League clubs may return for Nunez in the summer. “I’m here today to tell you once again, that the expectation in the industry, of those close to all parties involved in this story, is that from Saudi, they can return for Darwin Nunez,” Romano said. “Let’s see if something will also happen with European clubs, but from Saudi, they remain keen on Darwin Nunez.”

“And so I think Nunez has concrete chances to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window. I told you last week, and today I can confirm that there is this feeling and there is a concrete possibility for Nunez to go, and of course, for Liverpool to change something up front.”

Nunez, who has been praised as ‘world-class’ by Guillem Balague, has had a challenging season under manager Arne Slot. The 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided five assists in 35 appearances across all competitions, netting twice in his last 13 league outings. His performance has been a point of concern, especially after a recent 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, where he missed a crucial opportunity to put the Reds ahead in the second half.

Liverpool’s Current Standing

Despite Nunez’s struggles, Liverpool currently sits first in the Premier League with 12 games remaining. They hold an eight-point lead over Arsenal, who have a game in hand. This dominant position could influence Liverpool’s decision-making during the transfer window, as they may look to offload players who are not meeting expectations while also bringing in new talent to maintain their competitive edge.

Nunez’s Performance Metrics
