Cosmetics brand L’Occitane Korea has announced that it has placed an employee on standby after leaking revealing photos of Group Seventeen’s Mingyu on social media.
L’Occitane Korea issued a statement on its official social media, saying, “We have no excuse for the recent unauthorized posting of inappropriate photos related to the L’Occitane Asia Ambassador campaign through our staff’s SNS accounts, and we take full responsibility for it. We apologize for the incident.”
“We are taking this matter very seriously, and we sincerely bow our heads to the artists and fans who were injured in this incident,” the statement added. “The employee in question has been immediately terminated and placed on standby.”
L’Occitane Korea said, “To prevent such incidents from recurring, we have introduced regular training programs for all employees on the importance of respecting artists’ rights and privacy. We will ensure compliance, and we will proceed with this whole process with a heavy responsibility.”
Previously, a netizen caused controversy by posting a photo of Mingyu on her Instagram story, believing her to be an employee of L’Occitane Korea. The photos she posted were believed to have been taken while Min-gyu was filming a commercial, and some of them revealed her topless.
L’Occitane Korea has apologized for the incident and has promised to take measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
