Look up through the month for a dazzling parade of planets – The Washington Post
Stargaze: A Celestial Spectacle Unfolds Next Month
Mark your calendars, skywatchers! Next month, a breathtaking parade of planets is set to dazzle the night sky. Grab your binoculars or, better yet, find a clear spot and look up, as the cosmic spectacle unfolds above you.
From January 18 onwards, our solar system’s biggest planets—Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and, yes, even the distant Uranus—will align in a manner that hasn’t been seen in years. While planetary alignments aren’t rare events, having six or more planets visible to the naked eye at once is a captivating sight.
Don’t worry if you can’t spot all six planets; the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter) should be easily visible, depending on your location and weather conditions. And remember, the more planets you spot, the better your celestial score!
So, clear your schedule, and prepare for a night under the stars. The cosmos is putting on a show, and you won’t want to miss it. Happy planet hunting!
