Scopely will shut down the mobile game Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem on October 15, 2026, according to a company blog post. The developer of Monopoly Go and Pokemon Go confirmed the closure on July 15, 2026, detailing a phased wind-down of services and digital store availability over the coming months.
The decision to cease operations came after a great deal of thought, Scopely stated in the announcement. The game, which launched in 2018, allows players to collect characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to build teams for combat against other users.
Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem shutdown timeline
Scopely has established a specific schedule for the removal of game features and access. According to the studio, the following deadlines apply:
- August 16, 2026: The final date for players to spend in-game currency and the date social channels will be disabled.
- August 23, 2026: The date the game will be delisted from all digital stores.
- October 15, 2026: The total closure of the game, after which it will no longer be playable.
Between the July 15 announcement and the October shutdown, the developers are implementing a series of community rewards. These include a calendar of daily giveaways starting July 15 featuring toons and WB Charms, as well as free Toon Pieces for newly released characters available in the Store.
Developer statement on community closure
In the blog post, Scopely addressed the impact of the closure on the player base, which the studio referred to as “Toonsters.”
This isn’t an easy goodbye. For years, this community has built alliances that turned into real friendships, fought through wars together, and enjoyed plenty of laughs along the way. We’ve watched Toonsters grow from strangers into teammates, and from teammates into true friends. We don’t take that lightly, and it’s with real sadness that we say goodbye to this wonderful community.
