Los Angeles Aims for Top Role in Prince‍ of Wales’s Stakes

Royal ascot’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes features Los Angeles as a leading contender. The Group One role is highly sought after. Aidan O’Brien’s trainee,fresh⁢ off‍ an Irish Derby victory last season and a third-place finish in the Prix ⁢de l’Arc de Triomphe,enters with strong credentials. A prior Group One win this‍ season, besting rival Anmaat in the Tattersalls ⁤Gold Cup, further solidifies his chances.

O’Brien noted Los Angeles’ versatility. “He’s just as happy over ⁣10⁢ or 12 furlongs…He needs a strong run mile and a quarter, we all know that, and he loves a battle.”

Anmaat, trained by Owen Burrows, brings Champion⁢ Stakes-winning form. Though, Angus Gold,‍ representing ⁣owners Shadwell, expressed‍ reservations about possibly fast ground. “We will be keeping an ⁤eye ‍on the ground…He is our star of⁣ the year and we have to do the right thing.” Gold also highlighted⁣ the horse’s resilience,‍ saying, “He’s been a star for⁣ us.”

John gosden acknowledged the competition.”Our horse had‍ to come from⁤ off the‍ pace, ⁣but Ryan (Moore) was very pleased with ‍him…the owner⁤ was pretty keen on this ⁣race.”
