Love Blossoms in Andong: Introducing the Gyeongbuk Love Maru Low Birth Rate ALL-CARE Center – A Beacon of Hope for Families in Northern Gyeongbuk
Gyeongbuk Province to Establish ‘Gyeongbuk Love Maru Low Birth Rate ALL-CARE Center’ in Andong
Gyeongbuk Province has been selected for the regional customized marriage, childbirth, and childcare integrated support center public offering project hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, securing 3.8 billion won in special grants. The ‘Gyeongbuk Love Maru Low Birth Rate ALL-CARE Center’ will be built in Andong, serving as a hub-type center for cities and counties in the northern Gyeongbuk region.
The Integrated Support Center will provide customized one-stop services, bringing together welfare functions such as marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. The center will be built on four floors, each operated under four themes: marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare.
The first floor will feature a youth playground and book cafe for young men and women to meet under the theme of marriage. The second floor will feature a job convenience store and care library for childcare. The third floor will feature a pregnant woman counseling center and mothers’ classroom under the theme of pregnancy. The fourth floor will feature comprehensive childbirth family counseling and a family playground focused on childbirth.
In addition to its facilities, the center will provide practical and comprehensive services by establishing a collaborative system with various local organizations such as city/county population policy departments, hospitals, public health centers, mental health welfare centers, new day centers, and libraries.
Gyeongbuk Province, which is working to address the low birth rate, is expected to gain momentum in expanding infrastructure to address the low birth rate in the northern region with this public offering project selection. Residents of the northern Gyeongbuk region will be able to conveniently utilize this center to access information and specialized programs related to marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare.
Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo stated, “The integrated support center selected this time will be of great help to residents in the northern region who are relatively lacking in marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare infrastructure.” He added, “Gyeongsangbuk-do will work to discover a new model for a demand-oriented low birth rate overcoming project and expand it within the province and nationwide.”
