Ha Tae-kwon and Im Ye-jin Share Their Thoughts on Comparison in Relationships

On the MBN show ‘Sokpuli Show Dongchimi’ that aired at 11 PM on the 7th, Ha Tae-kwon, Im Ye-jin, Oh Young-sil, Jeong Han-yong, Jeong Jeong-ah, Jeong Tae-ho, Kim Hyun-tae, Jeong Geu-rin, Yoo In-kyung, and Han Tae-kwon appeared.

Ha Tae-kwon attracted attention by saying that he worked as a badminton commentator for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He shared his experience, saying, “Since I adjusted to the local time difference in Paris, everyone around me asked if I had a good trip to Paris, but I did it at night in Yeouido and then again in the early morning.” He added, “This time, there were a lot of games and gold and silver medals, so I had to broadcast day and night, so I still haven’t adjusted to the time difference.”

Kim Hyun-tae praised Ha Tae-kwon’s commentary skills, saying, “We’ve been together since 2006,” and “Actually, at first, I was awkward wondering what he was thinking while commentating, but when I saw him this time, he was so good.”

Comparison in Relationships

The topic the panelists talked about this time was ‘comparison’ between couples. Ha Tae-kwon opened up about this, saying, “Athletes are compared based on medals, annual salaries, and pensions,” and “I’ve won gold medals, I get a pension, and I have great mental strength, so I don’t get hurt by the slightest comparison.”

However, he shared a personal experience where his wife compared his appearance to that of Lee Dong-soo. He said, “I’m not that bad in terms of looks, but she compares me to senior Lee Dong-soo, so even though he won a silver medal, he has more fans than me. In sports, you have to compete based on skill, but my senior stands out more in terms of looks.”

Im Ye-jin also shared her thoughts on comparison in relationships. She said, “These days, I’ve been having a hard time talking to my younger siblings,” and “My close younger siblings live off the credit card my husband gave me.”

She expressed her disappointment, saying, “My husband spends a lot of money with the cards he gave me, and one day he asked me which car was good, and I was secretly looking forward to it. But a year later, when he asked me to go look at cars, he told me to buy it if I had my own money.”

Im Ye-jin also mentioned that she envies capable husbands who are good at giving out credit cards. She said, “Every time that happens, I envy capable husbands who are good at giving out credit cards.”
