Love is in the Air: Nagase Riko and Nomura Kota Star in the Highly-Anticipated Drama ‘Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru’, Premiering October 8th on MBS/TBS Dramaism
Live-Action Drama Adaptation of “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” Announced
The highly anticipated work “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” (original work by Shinichi Fukuda/published in Young Gangan, published by Square Enix), which has sold over 11 million copies in total and won numerous manga awards, including the Next Manga Award in the Comics category (2019) and the Recommended Comics chosen by Booksellers Nationwide (2020), and which was also a huge hit as an anime adaptation, will be made into a live-action drama and will start airing on the MBS/TBS Dramaism slot (MBS: every Tuesday from 24:59/TBS: every Tuesday from 25:28).
Storyline
Gojo Niina (Nomura Kota) is a high school boy who is fascinated by Hina dolls and is training to become a “kashirashi” (head maker) who makes the faces of Hina dolls. He is absorbed in making his beloved Hina dolls, but his interests do not match those of the others, and he is unable to fit in with his peers. One day, Kitagawa Marin (Nagase Riko), a popular gal in his class, notices his dexterous talent and asks him to ”make cosplay costumes” as an extension of making costumes for Hina dolls. Niina is confused, but moved by Marin’s enthusiasm, he starts making costumes. Marin loves anime, games, and manga, and enjoys cosplaying with all her might, following her passion for what she loves. Influenced by Marin’s behavior, Niina begins to break out of his shell little by little. The distance between the two people, who are complete opposites in body and mind, gradually closes through making costumes…

This time, stills from the first episode have been released. The scene shows Marin finding out that Niina likes Hina dolls, and the start of their story together: making cosplay costumes.
Theme Songs Announced
The opening and ending theme songs have also been decided. The trailers for each version have also been released. The opening theme song is “Princess Hero,” a new song by Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu, which became a hot topic on social media with its powerful singing voice and impressive hand choreography. The ending theme song has been decided to be ”Lovely Baby,” a new song by PEDRO, a band project featuring Ayana D, a member of BiSH, who disbanded in 2023, as the bass vocalist.
