Charles​ Bareis, MD, has been appointed president of MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn,⁣ Illinois, effective October 7, 2025, as announced by Loyola Medicine.

Dr. Bareis will continue in his role as chief medical officer, a position he has successfully ‍held since 2006.‍ He initially joined MacNeal hospital as an internist in 1992, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to the institution and the surrounding community.

Dr. Bareis ‌succeeds Pierre Monice, ⁣who ‍previously‍ served as president of MacNeal Hospital.⁤ Monice transitioned to a new role in May 2025,becoming president and‌ CEO of Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale,Florida,according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
