Dr. Charles Bareis Named President of MacNeal Hospital
Charles Bareis, MD, has been appointed president of MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, effective October 7, 2025, as announced by Loyola Medicine.
Continued Leadership at MacNeal Hospital
Dr. Bareis will continue in his role as chief medical officer, a position he has successfully held since 2006. He initially joined MacNeal hospital as an internist in 1992, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to the institution and the surrounding community.
Succession of Leadership
Dr. Bareis succeeds Pierre Monice, who previously served as president of MacNeal Hospital. Monice transitioned to a new role in May 2025,becoming president and CEO of Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale,Florida,according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
